To all the family members of Bill Rediger, Yes, we are sad at the passing of Bill, yet on the other hand, we can rejoice that his wish to be with Liz has finally been granted. How could a person ever forget Bill if you were blessed to have an extended conversation with him. When he would come to do a story about my toy project, we would get sidetracked talking about many other important topics such as current events and memories from his days in the service. He was like a walking book with a wealth of information on every page and liked to share his stories with you. I must say the first time he said to me, Well, hello you old fart, how are you anyhow, I thought goodness gracious we have a clone of my father here. My most vivid memory of Bill took place at his apt when Liz passed away. When I arrived with my loaf of bread, this broken hearted and crippled man, lifted himself to his feet to hug me and cry. That memory will live on with me forever. Over the last couple years, because I did not have his phone number, I would send him a love letter which I hope he found comfort in reading. As you walk in the valley of darkness, I feel Bill has seen the Great Light because he was a man of deep faith and made attending Mass and receiving the sacraments paramount in his life. The Rediger's leave us with fond memories and delicious stories to savor. My sincere sympathy. Miriam Eick

Jeff Kathy and Laura, your dad was my favorite Uncle. I always felt welcomed by he and your mom when I stopped to visit or needed a place to stay for the night. This happened a couple of times once when I was testing in Iowa for a State Troopers job and another when I was moving back from Dallas. In later years I visited with my kids and they loved his E- bike. I really enjoyed are last visit this past summer at the nursing home when I dropped in unannouced. I smiled when he said he had to cut are visit short as he had thearpy scheduled and he didnt want to miss it as he really wanted to walk again. I am sorry I can not be there this week but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Bill was a wonderful man, full of life, love and humor. He will forever be remembered in our household for walking down the driveway at my niece Katie's high school graduation party, with a drink in one hand, a big smile on his face and greeting my sons, CJ and Mark, with a hearty "How the hell are you!!?" The boys had never had an adult speak to them like that, and they immediately loved him for it. His energy, enthusiasm and excitement were infectious. We will truly miss him.

Big-hearted, Kind, Time-For-Everyone, Always Smiling ----- that's how I will remember Bill. We became cousins through Liz, and every time I saw him I was greeted with "Hey, Cousin!" It always made me laugh, and I loved him.
My condolences to his family, and May He Rest in Peace.

I wanted to see Uncle Bill one last time so I visited him & Aunt Liz summer of 2020 Uncle Bill said he was ready to go but Aunt Liz said "Not me! I got lot more things I want to do". Life throws us curves and I got to see Uncle Bill one more time at Aunt Liz's funeral last year. My main memory is Uncle Bill seemed to always be in a good mood. He was also a cool uncle, engaging with me & my siblings when we visited Dyersville. He amazed me as a young boy by passing his hand over a flame without getting burnt. He taught me the secret was in doing it quick. He also liked to play card games with us as well. When Grandpa Koopman died, Uncle Bill choked up eulogizing him. It made me realize how much he loved Grandpa and I was moved by his compassion. As years went by I also admired him for having multiple careers and enjoying working till almost 80 years old. I hope to emulate that trait if God allows me good health. I know Uncle Bill is relieved to be rid of his broken down mortal body and enjoying a sublime bliss I can't begin to imagine. So that's a good thought I'll hold onto until, God willing, I can join him and my godmother Aunt Liz in heaven. May the soul of Uncle Bill rest in peace.

Bill and Liz were a big part of the Beckman family. So many memories of gatherings at their house after a football game with Timmermans , Packers and many more. Many shots of tequila were had in celebration. My condolences to Bill’s family. Bill was truly “ one of the good guys “. Twyla Scherbring

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of William?
A: I cannot imagine a person that gave more to the City of Dyersville and Beckman HS sports than Bill. I can only imagine the countless hours you put in on the football Stat sheets. I can say how important those stats were to Bob and my players. It was the first thing they asked for every Sunday nite at films. Those stats help put the nearly 60 post-hs players into the college game. May the Angels take you into Paradise. And if they have sports teams, I'm sure you'll be covering them.
