Kaye and family. John and I would like to express our deepest sympathy in the loss of Eldon. We would like to come to the wake, but John is having trouble walking now and I don't think he would be able to stand around that long. You all were so nice to have John help you all those years and there hasn't been a day go by that he doesn't wonder how the crops are coming or how the harvest is going. Eldon will be missed by many as he had a wonderful personality and beautiful smile. May God keep you in his arms during this sad time.

To Kay and the Family,
Several years ago, I was custom building mounted corn pickers and was buying all the pickers I could find. One day out of the blue, UPS dropped a package with $100.00 COD from Eldon. I didn't question it beings it came from Eldon, so I paid the charge.
When I opened it, there was a corn picker like I'd been buying. The only catch was it had been laying in a driveway somewhere and had been run over by a truck and smashed completely flat. I'm sure Eldon spent days chuckling about that. I took that picker and cleaned it, sanded it, and repainted it with a beautiful new paint job and even put new decals on it. But it was still smashed flat as a pancake. That year at the annual Trumm party during the Dyersville show, I wrapped it and gave it back to him. He proudly hung it on the wall in the toy room. We laughed about it for years.
I'd like to offer my deepest sympathy. He will be truly missed by us all.

What a great man. I will never forget meeting him as a little kid at the Moline Plow City toy show. Over the years and enjoying his books. What a vast Knowledge he had of Farm Toys. Eldon touched the heart of a young aspiring John Deere collector back in the early 90s...me! I first met him at the National. He took the time to talk to me about collecting then and every show I saw him at. Invited us to the Moline show and made sure my family and I were taken care of. A very class act!! I will always have great memories of our toy show conversations. This is a picture of us at the National show when I first met him. Our sincerest condolences to your family.
