John and Janet were friends with my parents, Leo and Margaret Bonjour, who also lived in the Antioch Church area. The one story that I remember about John is that he always claimed that my mom should have been the valedictorian of Anamosa Class of 1949. She did not immediately attend high school after 8th grade because she had to stay home to help on the farm and with her two younger siblings and then four years later went to H.S. and completed it in three years instead of four. I always respected John for the unofficial honor that he gave my mother. May your family be blessed by the rich memories you have of your parents. Prayers for peace and comfort. You made it 6 months without your Janet. Always the perfect couple. Dad would tell stories about him growing up. He always called him Johnny. They moved to town, and were neighbors to your Grandma. The sidewalks were better there to roller skate, so Gramma always knew where I was....maybe on the swing eating a cookie. Boys, you were blessed with wonderful parents. I'm now a resident of Anamosa Care Center & great things were said about your Mom. My husband ran Anamosa Tire & Alignment & your Dad would be in there about the time mine would show up. They talked like old women...forever. You have my families deepest condolences. Renee Frankfurt-Dooley
