I also have good memories of Bud & Mary Esther when they lived in Whittemore, IA. They were great friends of my parents, Mary & Bob Gengler, and remained so for several decades after they moved to Dyersville.

The Rooney’s were the best family and great neighbors for my sisters and me growing up in Dyersville. After Bud and my father passed, my mother and Mary Ester continued their close relationship.
To all the Rooney family, our prayers are with you.....and we will also enjoy a little Irish celebration of life in your Mother’s memory!

Psalms 55:22 tells us: “Throw your burden on Jehovah, and he will sustain you.” May the God of all comfort give you the strength to endure during this difficult time, please take comfort in the promise the Bible gives us for the future in John 5:28: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” Soon, we can look forward to a time when we will be reunited with our loved ones that have fallen asleep in death.

Aunt Mary Esther: What a lady!!! We always enjoyed our times with her. She was so good to all of us. And needless to say there are a lot of us. She even new all of us in-law nieces and nephews by name and our children. She was always so kind and wanted to make sure we were all doing well. Mary Esther could and did hold her own though. She was a very strong loving woman. She will be missed.
