I didn’t know him as well as others may have, but he would always make me laugh when I came to visit his shop. He was kinda intimidating at first but I understood after awhile he had a big heart and was a great man. He will be missed by all who had crossed his path in life.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Russell. Please keep in mind the beautiful hope God gives us for the future in Revelation 21:4, which speaks of a time when God will wipe out all death, suffering, mourning, outcry and pain forever. May the God of all comfort help you to endure during this difficult time, remember to “throw your burden on Jehovah, and he will sustain you,” (Psalms 55:22).

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Russell’s family. Death is the hardest thing we have to deal with in life. I know my words can do little to ease the pain you are feeling, so I pray that the God of comfort be with you to help you cope. (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17) Lean on Him in the days to follow and read of our amazing hope for our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. Having shared both teaching and coaching with Russ we will always remember his great sense of humor and dry personality. I can truly say that after 45 years in education, Russ was a once in a lifetime person. Our sympathies go out to Linda, their daughters and all other people that have called Russ "friend"!

To the Faust family,
I grew up & lived in M'chester for a few years (70's) (was a Klosterman) - remember them as neighbors off Bailey Dr & being on our bus together. I was a classmate of Connie's while living there too. My brothers & sisters remember Russ as a great guy & we all a wonderful family.
I am so sorry for your loss of Russell. May God's arms give you strength at this time and always.

Dear Linda, Lauren, Kirsten and extended family,
The same black cloud that envelopes your hearts, will linger and hover over our town and surrounding communities for a very long time because of the untimely death of a dear and special man. Russell was a pillar of strength and cornerstone for not only Andy Eick at Beckman, but for anyone he met during his short life on earth. Russ always knew who I was, but I would have to say, " I really don't know who you are". Then a laugh would ensue. Please know as you walk in the valley of darkness, you and your family, Linda, will be in our thoughts and prayers. We will walk hand in hand with all of you as you continue your journey through life without your beloved husband, dad, and friend to so many. May God give you the strength to carry the weight of the cross that has been placed upon your shoulders.
With sad and caring thoughts, Miriam Eick

I had the pleasure of knowing Russ and Linda for nearly 40 years. Last year I worked with them to design and build custom cabinets for our new home and russ stood in the entry way and said “I remember changing your diapers!” He was always Mr Funny guy when he, kinda, my parents and i went to Bard pond to swim when we were kids! He was always out there with all the kids laughing and telling jokes! I hadn’t seen the Faust family for quite some time up until last year and it was like we picked right up where we left off! He was the same quirky funny sincere guy with the best 1-liners! You will be missed more than you know but there was only 1 Russ Faust so your legacy will live on forever! Peace to you!

Our heart absolutely hurts for your family. Russ made/designed all of our cabinets and woodwork in our home. He would tell a very crude and inappropriate joke but then turn into a big teddy bear when talking about his daughters❤️This last April we spent our anniversary in his office making plans for a possible build in the future. My husband apologized for spending the whole night with Russ but I absolutely LOVED it........he had a heart of gold and was just a straight up good guy. We only knew him from building our home but he left an imprint in our hearts.
You will be missed Russ❤️

My condolences to the whole family of Russ. I first met Russ and Linda when they moved into our neighborhood when starting their family. They were such a cute couple and adding their precious girls just sealed the deal. When I started drivers Ed, I was lucky to have Russ as the teacher. He kept everyone on their toes and made it fun. Later, my brother worked for Russ & Linda at their cabinetry business. Russ always had a smile on his face whenever I saw him (which was very hard with drivers Ed craziness). He adored his family and loved what he was doing. He truly will be missed by all the community and those of us that have moved away but still remember him. Hugs and prayers to you all!

I was so very fortunate to have crossed paths with Russ, when we chose him to do all our millwork/cabinets/doors for a house we were building about 15-years ago. His work and dedication to that work was exceptional. Not a visit went by that Russ did not talk about how lucky he was to have such a wonderful and loving family. He would talk of not deserving them and how blessed and loved he felt. It was always a treat to see Russ at a Camp Courageous Breakfast...he was so good to the camp. He thought it was important that we all realize how fortunate we are….something he wanted the twins to experience. Russ was a real gem and he will be dearly missed by all...

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all, especially Linda and the girls. I cant imagine what you all are going thru as the world is truly missing a great man. His heart couldn't have been bigger and he was always thinking of others. He was one a kind and thought the world of his girls. He always lit up when talking about your adventures together or what's new in your lives. Him and my dad were two peas in a pod, both of them would banter back and forth with one liners (to see who could out do the other one). I couldn't help but smile and laugh the whole time. Hugs to you all!

One of my favorite people to work with. He did several jobs for me over the years and we would always manage to break something. His response was always the same, he would have one for me within a couple of days and wouldn't allow me to come and get it nor would he charge me for it , he would say i have to run to Galena, Clinton, and Cedar Rapids tonight anyway so i'm going right by. When he would call I would ask him how it was going and he would always say " Living the dream" which i think he was. When he arrived i knew he was in a hurry so i tried not to waste his time but he always managed to find time to prank one of the guys pouches or something to be funny. Russ always wanted to keep moving until I would ask about his kids his eyes would light up and he would talk for an hour about them. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling now but wanted to express our sincere condolences on the passing of a great man, father and husband. Good luck and God bless
