MONTICELLO, IOWA Marie A. Foley, 81, of Monticello died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa. Services for Marie will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. Relatives and friends may begin to gather at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Al Polito will officate. Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monticello at a later date. Marie was born March 5, 1931, in Indiana Harbor, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Frances (McGuire) Thompson. She graduated from Bloom Township High School, Chicago Heights, IL with the class of 1949. On December 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to William A. Foley, Jr. at the First Presbyterian Church, Chicago Heights, IL. Marie lived in Chicago Heights, IL until she retired and moved to Monticello, Iowa in 1992. For many years Marie worked at the Foley Travel Bureau as a travel agent. She is survived by her husband, William; 2 children: Susan O'Rourke of Monticello, William (Pam) Foley of Hopkinton, and a grandson, William Foley of Beverly Hills, CA. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Mark O'Rourke; 2 brothers: Carl Thompson and Robert Thompson; 3 sisters: Helen Trenary, Florence Ziebell, and, and Jessie Burtzloff. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Shady Rest Care Center, and Hospice of Dubuque for all of their compassionate care.
