Obituary of Wilma Alfreda Nurre

Friends may call from 3 - 7 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2011, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Wilma was born January 9, 1925, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Amelia (Becker) Kister. She married Cleo B. Nurre on July 3, 1945, in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed in Dyersville until retiring in 1983. She worked at Peakenbrock Sewing Factory and as a housekeeper at the Colonial Inn. She loved to play Bingo and cards. Survivors include two daughters: Carol (Larry) Yudis of Bettendorf, IA, Mary Ellen (Bill) Spoden of Worthington, four grandchildren: Chris (Regetta) Yudis, Jessica Yudis, Randy (Betty) Spoden and Brad (Jeanne) Spoden; 4 great-grandchildren: Braden and Ashley Yudis and Cole and Rachel Spoden; in-laws: Ray (Joan) Nurre, Ralph (Lillian) Nurre both of Dyersville, Norma Vaughn of Dubuque and Marian (Neil) White of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cleo in 1999, sisters: Flavia (Emery) Willenbring, Geralda (Albin) Bries, and in-laws: Rita Bockenstedt, Carolyn Nurre and Jay Vaughn.
