Obituary of Karla Jean Schneider

Karla J. Schneider, 43, of Dubuque, Iowa and formerly of Holy Cross, died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Ennoble Manor, Dubuque, Iowa. Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Friends may continue to call after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Raymond Burkle will officiate. Karla was born December 4, 1968, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Jean (Kramer) Schneider. She graduated from Western Dubuque High School with the Class of 1987. She worked in the kitchen at the Dubuque Inn for 16 years and later at Hills and Dales for 7 years. Karla's interests include doing word search puzzles, bowling, making beautiful cross-stitch pictures for her family, playing scrabble and cards. She had many beautiful plants in her apartment that she has nurtured over the years. Karla really loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews and always remembered their birthdays. Surviving are her parents, Charles and Jean Schneider of Dyersville, siblings: Christine (Bruce) Lyon of Robins, IA, David (Rose) of Holy Cross, Martin (Felicia) of Alexandria, LA, Michelle (Dave) Mills of Omaha, NE, Amy (Jeff) Crooks, of St. Joseph, MI and Rachel (Bob) Kruse of Cascade, IA; 23 nieces and nephews; her grandmother, Sylveria "Sis" Kramer of Dyersville, IA; many aunt, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael in 1977, maternal grandfather, Elmer Kramer, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Viola Schneider and her uncle, Mark Schneider. Memorials are preferred
