On August 28th, 1950, Alice was united in marriage to Donald C. (Lefty) Meyers at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. He preceded her in death on June 21st, 2005. This marriage was blest with three children, Matt, Phyllis, and Mary Kay.

Alice worked at the Glover Sewing Factory until she became a full-time homemaker for her children. When time became available for Alice, she felt the need to continue caring for children, and became a teacher’s aide for the special needs students at Beckman Catholic Schools in Dyersville and Western Dubuque Schools in Farley. Alice truly enjoyed her time helping these students. She refferred to them as, “Angels on Earth.” In her senior years, Lefty and Alice enjoyed traveling the East Coast, Europe, fishing in Minnesota, and especially spending the winters in Texas with their ‘Tip O Texas” friends.
