Obituary of Bonnie Marie Hoeger

Bonnie was born on January 23, 1950 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Eloise Carlson. She graduated from Yorkwood High School with the class of 1968 and received her nursing degree from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL, where she was an obstetrical nurse for 25 years. Bonnie married David Girdler and they had 3 children: Trent, Kati and Kyle. In 1997 she married Jerry Hoeger and moved to Dyersville, Iowa. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, three children: Trent Girdler of Eldridge, IA, Kati (J.R.) Knaub and Kyle (fiancé Amber Wiedeman) Girdler both of Sterling, CO, 2 grandchildren: Keaton and Kole Knaub, five step children: Connie (Dan) Carlson of Powder Springs, GA, Traci (Bill) Jennings of Story City, IA, Steve (Naomi) Hoeger, Terry (Rochelle) Hoeger, both of Dyersville, and Kurt (Tammy) Hoeger of Winona, MN, 19 step grandchildren, one brother, Dan (Jennie) Carlson of Kankokee, IL, and one sister, Rita (Dale) Rothzen of Kirwood, IL, and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be given to the Dyersville Garden Club. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where an American Legion Auxiliary Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a parish scripture service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Quint.
