Obituary of Maynard John Lewis

Maynard Lewis, 70, of Monticello, Iowa died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

 

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello.  Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church prior to funeral services.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello with burial in the church cemetery.  Rev. Paul Baldwin will officiate. 

 

Maynard was born November 12, 1947, the son of Donald and Evalyn (Supple) Lewis.  He spent most of his working life in various construction jobs.  He loved fishing, canoeing and hunting. 

 

Survivors include his siblings, Ken Lewis, Terry (Linda) Lewis, and Madonna (Steve) Koob all of Monticello, JoAnn Egger of Anamosa, brother-in-law, Chuck Pierce of Cascade, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Carl Gudenkauf, Gerri Pierce, Peg and Carl Merfeld, and a brother-in-law, Ron Egger.
