Obituary of Edwin Thomas Conrad

Ed was born on June 24, 1917 in Cassville, Wisconsin, the son of John and Bertha (Meier) Conrad. He married Margaret Moreland on January 6, 1936 in Earlville, Iowa. Ed ran his own business in Dyersville as a dray man for numerous businesses for over forty years. His whole life was about work. You never met a man that was more organized. He worked at the Ertl Co. for 10 years. Ed loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. Survivors include his children: Wayne "Fritz" (Arlene) Conrad of North Buena Vista, Iowa, Joyce Brimeyer of Dubuque and, 3 grandchildren: Shelly (John) Rome of Mesa, AZ, John (Marie) Conrad of Addison, IL, Debra (Roger) Meyer of Dubuque, great grandchildren: Maggie and Annie Rome, John, Nicholas and Alex Conrad, Brian Hanson, Emily and Katie Meyer, brother-in-law, Bob Necker, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Vern (Betty) Conrad both of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, son-in-law, William Brimeyer and brothers: Kenneth (Florence) and Vern Conrad. Friends may call from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in church cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Quint.
