James W. Hogan, 76, of Anamosa, Iowa and formerly of Worthington died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Silvercrest, Anamosa, Iowa. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wed. Sept. 4, 2013, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Worthington with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 137. Jim was born March 14, 1937, in Worthington, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Marie (Schwendinger) Hogan. Jim served the US Navy for 8 years then joined the US Air Force serving all over the world including: Korea, Vietnam, Germany and the US. He married Beverly Hess on in Worchester, Massechusettes and together had 3 beautiful children: Candice of Arkansas, Michael, who preceded him in death, and Darren Hogan of Platteville, WI. . His marriage to Betty produced a son, Shawn Hogan and an adopted daughter, Kimberly, both of Germany. Jim later married Nancy Sue Graves, who also preceded him in death. He is also survived by several grandchildren; siblings: MaDonna Wolfe of Worthington, Joyce Digmann of Platteville, WI and Robert Hogan of Worthington, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Beverly and Nancy, a son, Michael Hogan, and a sister, Patricia (Marvin) Gassmann.
