Some people come and go in life and a percentage of them leave a lasting impression . . . . Tom was one of those. My first acquaintance with Tom was as a High School Basketball referee for some of my games; then later playing for and against him in town team baseball; then later as an Attorney for my clients. He lived life "large" and losing him will leave an equally large empty space. However, his great legacy of family and community involvement will live forever. What a great life he had with the thousands of people he helped personally and through his business .... certainly an example for all of us.

What a wonderful man Tom Jenk,SR was. He taught me about life sitting next to him on a bucket watching the Beckman Blazers. He always had a story that had a lesson to learn. He taught me that even though baseball/sports is important, family always comes first. He was a wonderful man and this Beckman community will miss him dearly.

Tom was one of my very first "bosses". As a senior in high school, I worked for Jenk, Jenk & Goen, as the law firm was known as back in the late 70's. Tom displayed such professionalism, yet he was always approachable with an open-door policy. I listened to so many dictaphone tapes that Tom recorded in that year that I can still recall his voice so distinctly! In later years, Tom was my attorney...who better to have than someone I trusted so much & held in such high regard. My condolences go out to Bev, Tom, Lisa, David and their families. Dyersville has lost a stellar citizen, but Heaven has gained a true "Ghostplayer".

Tom was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I am proud to say I worked for him for 32 years, and consider it an honor. Tom was more than a boss, he was my second father. He was always there for me when I needed him. He taught me so much in both the legal world as well as my personal life that I use every day. Life will never be the same without him. The community of Dyersville and the baseball world lost a wonderful man, but heaven gained a great person. Will miss you, Tom. My heart goes out to the Jenk family.

Kelli and I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Jenk family. Tom was a good friend, and we worked dozens of deals together over the years. He never minced words. You always knew where he stood. The professions lost a good man. I will miss him greatly. Gary

A wonderful neighbor, coach, and gentleman. I have nothing but fond memories of him, including 30 years ago today when he teased me mercilessly during my first MLB game when the Cubs beat the Cardinals in Wrigley.

Tom was an inspiration to all of us. He was a great boss, and even though I didn't work there the last 5 years, I left my heart at the Jenk Law Office. He was a very special one-of-a-kind and will be sadly missed.

Tom, I was heartbroken to hear of your father's passing. There are no words that can help at a time like this, but know that Tom, Sr. is now with his Lord and Savior, probably showing him how to hit a curve ball. Knowing the two of you through the years and seeing the both of you at the state tournament will always be a bright spot in my memories, especially when your dad and I compared knees. May God bless you and your family and may He give you a peace and understanding that only He can give during you time of sorrow. Butch

I enjoyed watching Tom on the baseball field cheering his team and son on with every pitch. I was wondering why I did not see him on the field in the recent State Baseball victory for Beckman. Tom gave me a job when I was 16 years and like Terrie, taught me a lot of about business, integrity, and friendship. He knew EVERYONE. He was kind, gentle and very caring for all his employees and friends. You will missed by so many. Rest in Peace Mr. Jenk. What a very sad day on earth but a joyous and wonderful day in Heaven.

It was an honor to work for Tom for 34 years. What a great boss he was! He was my mentor, my friend and a second father. He helped me through some rough spots in my life and taught me so many things. All bosses should have taken lessons from Tom. His philosophy was your family comes first before your job and he meant it. He never said a word if you had to take off for your family and encouraged us girls to take off for our kids' events. He was always interested in our lives and always had great stories to tell. I am honored to have known and worked for Tom for so many years. It's not gonna be the same without him. My sympathies to Bev, Tom, Jr., Dave and Lisa.
