We are sorry for your loss. I worked with Gene for many years on many toy projects. He is a great man. You all should be very proud. I have been with Gene in many stressful situations making parts and he always was the consumate gentleman. He helped me learn to "calm down". When I ever complained to him he always said" ya, ya ya." I know his time at scale models was not the ride into the sunset he wished it could have been but he never compained or said a word. He was a true gentleman. I am traveling on the day of your services both Tuesday and Wednesday and am truly saddended that I cannot be there. I will be sure to stop at his grave to say a prayer. I'm so sorry for your loss. Me and Pat were ice fishing and not do to well, Gene was out there along with Jerry Manneman. They decide to go over across the main channel of the Mississippi to fish, and asked if we wanted to go along, of
course I wasn't going to say no, but man across the main channel??? never did that before. So we took down out tents and packed up and away we went to Guttenburg, we pulled in the parking lot unloaded all our fishing equipment and off Gene and Jerry went out on the ice right below the open water of the Dam......as me and Pat go to the ice I thought God help us are we crazy or what......so we followed, and half way I looked over at the open water and I thought if them 2 guys ahead of me are going to make I should be fine. We got to our fishing spot and caught the nicest Crappies ever, you couldn't help but see smiles on everyone's face. Finally decides we better head back....Pat and Gene pulled one sled, me and Jerry pulled the other. When I think back on this it was a perfect day fishing , and I spent it with Pat, Jerry and Gene. I will never forget it.
