Donald A. "Butch" Fangmann, 69, of New Vienna, Iowa died Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. John O'Connor will officiate. Donald was born August 14, 1943 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Frances (Schroeder) Fangmann. He served in the United States Army for a brief period and returned to farm near New Vienna He was an Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed Deer Hunting and was a member of the Heritage House, Tri-County Sportsman's Club and former board member. Survivors include his sister, Carol Ann Putz of Petersburg, nieces and nephews: Donna (Dave) Gillespie of Marion, Justin Putz of Marion, Patrick (Luann) Putz of Colesburg, Marilyn (Pat) O'Connell of Earlville, Cory O'Connell (fiancé Emily Wulfekuhle) of Earlville, Carrie O'Connell of Ames, Emily O'Connell and Andy O'Connell both of Earlville, Dennis Putz of Petersburg, Kenneth Putz (fiance Kim Wood) of Hampton, Robert (Cheryl) Putz of Earlville and one aunt, Armella Schroeder of Dyersville, He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law: Joseph Putz in 1993.
