My sympathy goes out to Toby's family. I had met Toby at the Dyersville Genealogy Society when doing research on my family and he was there also doing research and was very nice and helpful.

I met Toby for the first time in 2001, at a gathering of all my cousins in Dyersville. He really impressed me with all his family tree knowledge. I was looking also for my roots of the Wedewer family. So sorry to hear of his passing and will keep him and his family in my prayers. Deanna Lester, Carvel, Alberta Canada

In memory of a generous and friendly man, who gave me the great gift of re-connecting me with my family and its history. I will miss him, but I know he will have great joy connecting with the souls that have departed before him, about whom he's been thinking and imagining all these years!

To Dula and "Toby's" family. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by so many because he helped everyone he met. His mind was as smart as anyone I ever knew in family History. I could always count on him for help with genealogy. I am going to miss that.

I have known my cousin Toby for over 50 years. I played with his boys when we were little. I have never seen Toby get mad. He was always calm and collected. He had one of the top dairy herds in Delaware County. He has to be given great credit for his unselfish, tireless work with the history of the Bockenstedt and Vorwald ancestry in America. Thank God that this history has been recorded and will be to our benefit forever. He was suffering for the last year and did not complain. We can all thank him for his example on how to live and learn. We will miss his demeanor, vast knowlege, humor and friendship.

Dear DULA, We feel very sorry about your loss. We were shocked to hear about your TOBI´s passing. We will always remember TOBI´s hospitality, his friendship and how helpful he was with our unforgettable Wedewer-family-reunion in August 1994. He always managed to make us laugh and brighten up our day. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We offer our deepest apologies for your loss. If there is anything we can do to help you through this difficult time, please let us know. We will be honored to do so. Yours sincerely, Wally and Burchard Wedewer from Germany

Dear Dula--I just saw the obit in the Press Citizen of Toby's death and want to express my sympathy to you and your family. i had met Toby with you--I always think of you folks as about 40 years old ai got to visit with you when you were visiting your sons in I .City. Gene died 18 years ago with a brain tumor so I know what you have been fighting. You were my first baby sitter with Steve who is 60 now and I remember the good times we had in the Xavier nursery and in New Vienna. Love Anita Keifer, 2802 Brookside Drive.
