Mom loved her baby sis. Even though there were 13 years difference in their ages, "Sis" and Carole were the closest of sisters during the 67 years on earth they shared. Aunt Carole loved to tell me the story of how Mom told their mother that Carole's name should have an "e" on the end of it, just like the famous actress Carole Lombard had! She loved being connected with Carole Lombard like that lol.
I'll always remember Aunt Carole's flair, spunk and of course, her signature laugh! That laugh could bring you back to your senses in a happy heartbeat. She was also deeply caring and during hard times, she would call to console me. I'll never forget how we cried for a long long time together on the phone when her big Sis (my Mom) died at Thanksgiving 2009. Aunt Carole also had a wonderfully strong faith in the Lord and that gave me strength when I had none. Just a month ago, she called to see how my Dad and my sister Lynda, both very ill, were doing. It gives me great comfort to know that Aunt Carole's big Sis and her niece Lynda were both there in Heaven waiting for her on Thursday afternoon with a big mug of coffee and hugs galore. What love they share!
Our hearts stand beside Lisa, Linda and Laurie and their families as they celebrate their Mom's life on earth and now her everlasting life. Aunt Carole will never be forgotten. She will never be forsaken. <3 <3 <3
