MONTICELLO, IOWA Robert L. Stroud, 83, of Monticello, Iowa, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Monticello. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at New Life Community Church of the Nazarene in Monticello. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at New Life Community Church, Monticello, Iowa with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Doug DiBell. Robert was born on October 29, 1929 in Fordland, Missouri, the son of Sigle "Edwin" and Mary "Emma" (Bumgardner) Stroud. He married Dorothy McGuirk on December 16, 1959 in Marshfield, MO, and were later divorced. He was baptized on August 29, 1982 at the New Life Community Church. Survivors include his children: Lee Stroud of Arvada, CO; Doug Stroud of Greenville, KY; Charlotte (Chad) Smith of Monticello; 3 grandchildren: Robert Lee Stroud III, and Garris and Amara Stroud; siblings: Don (Diane) Stroud, Geneva (Clovis) Young, Juanita Laughlin, Delores "Boots" Holland and Annabelle (Walter) Baldwin; and the mother of his children, Dorothy Ehlts-Wille. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dwayne; and 2 sisters: Edna and Norma Stroud.
