Jenny's Family - I am not sure if you will see this after so much time has passed since Jenny passed away but I just found out about this today and feel compelled to reach out to you. Jenny and I were very close friends all throughout our time at UNI. We were Bender Hall 11th floor buddies and spent countless hours together. My heart is breaking over this loss and regret deeply that I was never able to reconnect her after so many years. As I am sure you know already, she was loved by many, and without a doubt by me!! All the best to your family!!

I am so sorry to hear of Jenny's passing. I was just looking online to reconnect and found her obituary.
I worked with Jenny at Oberlin. She and I were buddies. An episode in our relationship that about sums things up took place on New Year's Eve. I challenged her, after a couple of drinks of course, to do a naked do-si-do under the main traffic light in the middle of the town of Oberlin. We bundled up on that freezing cold night, walked to the center of town, stripped in a bank cash machine vestible (me to nothing and her to her underwear--modest but good enough), and ran into the middle of the deserted street. There we did the do-si-do, looked at each other, and decided that we had accomplished our goal and needed to get warm quick. She was game for any harmless, goofy fun. I will definitely miss her.

I was sad to learn from my cousin Judy, that Jenny had passed. She was a delight to teach and obviously continued to be a sharp, stimulating person to know and work with. I was pleased to learn Jenny had lived such an interesting life, often taking the road less traveled. Judy, Bud, Jack and John,
I have SO MANY fond memories of Jenny from grade school through UNI. She was always one of my favorite people because she was always happy and upbeat and wickedly smart! I remember so many times her talking about all of you and Becky with such love and admiration. She adored each of you. We shared so many laughs and good times.... from kidding each other over who had the biggest 'bell bottoms' in grade school, to hamming it up in band and choir in high school, and enjoying running into each other at UNI. She was always such a great spirit and fun character - such a fun loving goof, and such a great mind. I hope her memories comfort and heal each of you and Dave too. I believe Jenny and Becky are enjoying each others company once again and smiling on us. I and the Anamosa High School Blue Raider Class of 1984 will never forget her.

I would describe Jenny as a "Delightful Intellectual". She was always a pleasure to work with and always had a sharp wit about her. You could never meet a nicer person that was so easy to talk to. She had a great strength about her as well, and an inspiration to us all. Her "can do "attitude is something we should all learn to have. It is our world's loss of such an exceptional person, but I know she will be watching over all of us to keep us on the right path with her wisdom. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

I would like to pass on my condolences to the family and friends of Jenny. I worked as an RA in Bartlett Hall during the same time that Jenny worked in Bender. During training and meetings we often connected and shared many laughs concerning the life and experiences of an RA. As is so often the case, graduation causes people to go in other directions and I had lost track of many of those RA friends. I'm sure that Jenny enjoyed living life to the fullest and that makes it harder to know that she has gone on. We moved next door to Simmons in Dec.1982. Joe grew up & 1 day after his fence went down, he rang the doorbell to give me a flower-a lilly of the valley. He told me "She gave it to me, for you, Mom" After a few questions & days, She was named Jenny. But she could have given him a million flowers, his eyes were for "John Buddy". He was John Buddy 1 year for Halloween, & I had to answer the door. After all was done doorbell, it was John & Jenny and she scared me BAD-I hated Halloween anyway. I didn't know she was an introvert, I am also & prefer my computers, etc & books -we would've made a good pair. & Joe is more like his 'kid hero, John' A lot of memories, good & bad between the 2 houses on Blacksmith Rd. [A LOT of Laughter] She's at peace now & reunited with Becky.(btw cancer sucks) Godspeed, Bud, Judy Jack & John. Renee & Joe

Both Blair and I were RAs for Jenny while at UNI. Jenny was a wonderful person and a joy to work for. She was fun to be around and gave us the freedom, respect and trust to do the right thing.
