LuVerne was born on May 23, 1918 in Petersburg, Iowa, the son of Ben and Louise Kercoff Mormann. He married Catherine Lucille Hansel on January 5, 1943 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 20 years, Farm Service until his retirement in 1981. He was a volunteer fireman in Earlville for 20 years. He enjoyed playing cards, going fishing, but most of he loved his family. He served his country in the Army for 1944 to 1946 as a Pvt. First Class. Survivors include his wife, Catherine, of Earlville two daughters: Mary Ann ( George) Nicholson of Las Vegas NV and Patricia Ann Hoefer of Traer IA; 7 grandchildren: Bruce Niehaus Brad Niehaus, Brenda Gray, Tom Steward, Jamie Hoefer, Sarah Hoefer and Heather Waite. 13 great-grandchildren: and 1 great greatgrandchild. 1 sisters: , Agnes Mensen of Earlville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren: Judy and Brian, 2 brothers: Art and Walter and 1 sister: Evelyn Geistkemper
