Survivors include his wife Joan. Two daughters, Gina (Troy) Ludovissy of N. Buena Vista and Tracy (Abe Stoner) Kane of North English, IA and one son, Werner (Ben) III of Holy Cross, Iowa. Six grandchildren, Eric, Jessica, Lee, Jeffery, Stephanie and Joe which he loved dearly. Also surviving are six sisters, Helen Fall and Chrystal (Steve) Klatt both of Olin, IA, Anna Marie Entsminger, Sylvia Rickles and Margaret Stickley all of Anamosa, IA, Evelyn (Jim) Heinsius of Cedar Bluff, IA three brothers, Hans (Shirley) Bendixen of Clarence, IA, Richard (Arlene) Bendixen of Amber, IA and Chris (Carol) Bendixen of Olin. And special friends Ruth and Lavern Schafer of Anamosa. Werner was born June 6, 1940 on a farm near Wyoming, Iowa the son of Werner Sr. and Margaret (Osterkamp) Bendixen. He married Joan Johnson on October 7, 1960 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa He farmed most of his life near Baldwin, Maquoketa area. In 1983 they moved to Hopkinsville, Kentucky for 10 years then moved back to North Buena Vista, IA. Werner loved his kids, grandkids, brothers and sisters and spending time with his friends. He loved Flea markets and garage sales where he collected Coca Cola Bears, coins, eagles, puzzles and Old Western shows.
