She is survived b y 2 step-daughters: Mary Ellen Frey of Waterloo, IA and Margaret Westendorf of California; 1 step-daughter-in-law, Claudia (Lawrence) Schueller, of New Hampton, IA; 2 nephews: James Steffen of Dubuque, IA and Neil Goerdt of Dyersville, IA; 13 nieces: Lois Pins, Julie, Mary and Donna Goerdt, Mercedes Maiers, Madonna Wulfekuhle, Imogene (Jerome) Bagge and Jean Mensen, all of Dyersville, Bernice (Pat) Dolan of Rockford, IL, Melaine (Andy) Loesche and Aurelia Grawe, both of Manchester, IA, and Margaret Doerr of Dubuque, IA, and a special great-niece, Sue (Ed) Kramer of Dyersville. Rose was preceded in death by her step son, Bernard Beckman, Jr., 4 brothers: Edward, Albert, William and Emil Goerdt and 2 sisters, Clara Grawe and Hilda Steffen. Rose was born September 24, 1908, in Dyersville, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Schockemoehl) Goerdt. Rose was educated in the rural school and worked at the Glover Shirt Factory in Dyersville. She married Bernard Beckman on March 30, 1959. She and her husband owned and operated the Park Motel in Salida, CO until his death on August 20, 1962. Rose returned to Dyersville where she worked at the Ben Franklin Store and Darlene's Cards and Gift Shop. The family wishes to thank the relatives and friends for their loving and caring visits, and to the staff at Oak Crest Manor, of whom Rose often spoke so highly. Thanks, also to Hospice of Dubuque for their love and care.
