Jo and Tom Batterton and Jill Whitsell all of Petersburg, IA. and Joy and Brian Pealer of Cedar Rapids, IA. 13 grandchildren, Justin, Jake and Lanie Crouse of Maxwell, IA., Megan and Ashley Batterton and Rob, Nick, Ally and Abby Whitsell all of Petersburg, IA, Josh, Danny, Matt and Elizabeth Pealer of Cedar Rapids, IA; 4 sisters, Doris and Steve McElmeel of Lisbon, IA, Jeanette and Paul Kremer of Epworth, IA, Marian and Dave Armstrong of Livingston, MT and Lucy Sutherland of Cascade, IA. 5 brothers, Loras Simon and Mary Ann McGrane and Lee and Connie Simon all of Bernard, IA., Matt and Jean Simon Tom and Sherry Simon all of Cascade, IA, and Irwin and Luann Simon of Farley, IA. In-laws, Judy Simon of Peosta, IA, Donald and Rachel Budden, Rick and Darla Budden all of Petersburg, IA and Toots and Dick Reittinger of Dyersville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Merlin Simon. Marie was born July 19, 1940 in Farley, Iowa the daughter of Emmet M. and Kathleen E. (Urbain) Simon. She married Robert J. Budden July 19, 1960 in St. John's Catholic Church, Placid, Iowa. Marie attended Carr Country School and St. Martin's High School in Cascade, Iowa. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Jim Beam Five Seasons Club. Marie was a HUGE Lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs and loved the Christmas season.
