Survivors include his wife, Pearl; one son, Robert (Linda) Meier of Cuyahoga Fall, OH; four daughters, Patricia Meier of Spring Lake, MI, Constance (Jim) Cade of Urbandale, IA, Joyce (Tom) Fredrick of Greenfield, MA, Janet (Steve) Domeyer of Dubuque, IA; six granddaughters, Anne Meier, Sarah Cade, Laura and Victoria Fredrick, Amy and Emily Domeyer; two grandsons, Tim (Charlotte) Meier, Matt Domeyer; one step-grandson, Austin Kness; one great-granddaughter, Krista Meier; two brothers, Edward Meier of Milan, IL, Othmar (Dorothy) Meier of LaPorte City, IA; four sisters, Marie Rottinghaus of Eagle Center, IA, Clara Guynn and Agnes (Earl) Youngblut of LaPorte City, IA, and Anne (Larry) Bussman of Spring Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Andrew Fredrick. Victor was born on November 7, 1919, in Luxemburg, Iowa, the son of John H. and Rose (Brunsman) Meier. He moved to Eagle Center at the age of 7. He served in the Navy four years, from 1942 to 1945. He married Pearl Bockenstedt on February 6, 1946, in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, Iowa. Together they farmed south of Waterloo for one year, then moved northeast of Manchester for 38 years until retiring in Dyersville in 1984. During his farming years his dairy herd was his life. After retirement his grandchildren were his life. They loved him and he loved them dearly, and they enjoyed each other's company.
