John (Jack) A. Pasker age 85 of Ryan passed away on Thursday evening at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa. A parish scripture service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 4, 2004, 11:00 a.m. St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan. Rev. Dennis Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. A memorial has been established in his memory. John was born on July 28, 1918, in Luxemburg, Iowa the son of Benjamin & Clara Brunsmann Pasker. He married Luella Dingbaum on October 1, 1940 at Petersburg, Iowa. He farmed in the Ryan community for many years. Moving to Monticello in the last few months. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Ryan and the Catholic Order of the Forresters. He is survived by his wife Luella of Monticello, and his children: Claudene (Carl) Staner of Omaha, AR, Verna Mae (Terry) Galvin of Iowa City, IA, Marie (LJ) Takes of Monitcello, IA, Dorothy (Jerry) Peterson of Madison AL., John (Shirley) Pasker of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jim (Mary) Pasker of Boise ID. 16 grandchildren: Larry (Sue) Soppe, Mark Soppe, Steve (Vickie) Soppe, Carl Soppe, Jackie (Tony) Taddonio, Michelle (Brian Mildenstein) Galvin, Terri (Aaron) Tallman, Tony Takes, Steven Peterson, Karen Peterson, Jeff (Michelle) Pappas, Keri Pasker, Brittney Pasker, Kathy (Jim) Ineck, Suzi Pasker and David Pasker. 15 great grandchildren. 3 brothers: William (Rosemary) Pasker, Alphonse (Mae) Pasker both of Manchester, IA and Leo (Jeanette) Pasker of Cedar Rapids, IA. 2 sisters Ida Funke and Irene (Don) Salow both of Manchester, Iowa. 2 sister-in-laws Nettie Pasker and Irene Pasker both of Manchester, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers Joe Pasker and Albert Pasker.
