Obituary of Margaret Ostwinkle

Margaret M. Ostwinkle, 85, of Worthington, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at Mercy Hospital, Dyersville, after a long illness. Friends may call from 2-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where the parish scripture service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2004 at St Paul Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa, with burial in St. Paul Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Douglas Loecke. Margaret was born March 26, 1919, in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of William and Agatha (Funke) Ostwinkle. She lived and farmed in the Worthington area all her life. After her mother died on May 6, 1948, she kept house on the farm for her father and two brothers. Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy (Eugene) Tobin of Worthington, IA and Katherine Ludwig of Farley, IA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ostwinkle of Epworth, IA and Del Rose Ostwinkle of Worthington, IA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Alfred, Bernard (Barney), Leo, Bill, Lester (Jack) and Ernest Ostwinkle; three sisters, Marie Turnis, Lucille Ludwig and Delores Ostwinkle in infancy; two sisters-in-law, Anna Mae (Alfred) Ostwinkle, Doris (Leo) Ostwinkle; and three brothers-in-law, Leon (Katherine) Ludwig, Urban (Lucille) Ludwig and Fred (Marie) Turnis.
