Obituary of Timothy Burkle

Survivors include his wife, Lisa, and a daughter, Madison, of Prior Lake, MN; his parents, Don and Lois Burkle of Dyersville, IA; a sister, Ruth (John) Utter of Cedar Rapids, IA; two brothers, Jeff (Cheryl) Burkle and their children, Jeremy, Justin and Molly Burkle, of Dyersville, IA and Scott (Terri) Burkle of Dubuque, IA; his father and mother-in-law, Mike and Linda Hood of Rolfe, IA; and a sister-in-law, Jennifer (Ed) Meyer and their children, Christopher and Alexander, of Emmettsburg, IA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Emma Burkle and Alfred and Loretta Goedken. Tim was born on September 20, 1966, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Don and Lois (Goedken) Burkle. He was a 1985 graduate of Beckman High School and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1989 with a degree in Business Management and Finance. He married Lisa Joanette Shimon on October 2, 1993 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa. Tim was a Senior Corporate Merchandiser with Nash Finch Company based in Minneapolis, MN. He began his career at Land-O-Lakes and has been with Nash Finch for 14 years. He was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan, and enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his family. A memorial fund has been established and memorials are preferred.
