Survivors include his wife, Lucille; three daughters: Judy (Roger) Swenson of Janesville, WI, Janet (Bob) Kramer of East Dubuque, IL, Susan (Tom) Edwards of Waukesha, WI; two sons: Pat (Debbie) Maiers, Mike (Ann) Maiers both of Holy Cross, IA; 10 grandchildren: Jim (Laura) Swenson, Jon (Jamie) Swenson, Rob (Julie) Kramer, Russ (Meggan) Kramer, Carri (Nick) Casey, Nick Maiers, Chris Maiers, Ben Maiers, Nathan Edwards, Hannah Edwards; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Helen (Roger) Klaas of Wadsworth, OH and Rosemary (Bill) Nolan of Peosta, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandson, Peter Swenson, and a brother, Emmett Maiers. Clarence was born on March 21, 1919 in Holy Cross, Iowa, the son of Gilbert and Mary Bernice (Weber) Maiers. He married Lucille L. Brimeyer on September 19, 1940 at St. St. Francis of Assisi in Balltown, Iowa. He was owner and operator of Maiers Auto Service in Holy Cross. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Clarence has left a legacy; he taught us to love God and life. His greatest pleasure was helping others. He will be missed, but he has shared his many gifts that will live on in all who knew him.
