Bernice was born on November 28, 1921 in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Herman L. and Mary H. (Putz) Fangmann. She married Edmund W. Bredhold on September 24, 1946 in Dyersville, Iowa. Bernice was a very loving and kind lady with a lighthearted personality and a smile for everyone. She always put her family first. She was very strong in her faith, enjoyed a good card game, family tree, crocheting, fishing and country music. She was loved very much by her family and friends and will be missed tremendously. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley M. (William J.) Foley of Dyersville, IA, a son-in-law, Gary E. (Tish) Apfelbeck of Cedar Rapids, IA; four grandchildren: Kelly S. and Khris D. DeFlieger, Michelle D. (Shawn) Gossen and Carson J. (fiancé, Alicia Cornwell) Apfelbeck; five great-grandchildren, Katie and Austin DeFlieger, Colten Apfelbeck, Abbey and Avery Gossen; one brother, Elmer Fangmann of Farley, IA; one sister, Julia (Robert) Pasker of Luxemburg, IA; and a sister-in-law, Lorene Miller of Huntingburg, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mary (Putz) Fangmann; her husband, Edmund Bredhold on May 30, 2001; a daughter, Darlene Apfelbeck; three sisters: Dorothy Steffen, Germaine Fangmann, Irene Feldmann; three brothers-in-law, Otto, Linus and Alois Bredhold; one sister-in-law, Mathilda (Hubert) Bumm; and her mother and father-in-law, John and Anna (Braunecker) Bredhold.
