Survivors include 3 sons, Richard (Ann) Cook of Worthington, Iowa, Patrick D. (Mary Fox) Cook of Holy Cross and Duane G. Cook of Holy Cross. 3 daughters, Joan (Dan) Wilwert of Holy Cross, Joyce (John) Lehmann of Bankston and Julie (Rick) Barton of Rickardsville. 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 1 sister, Bernice Lansing of McGregor, IA and 3 sisters-in-law, Anita (Mrs. Albin) Wulfekuhle of Holy Cross, Delores (Dave) Wertzberger of Dubuque and Sally (Charles) Maiers of Holy Cross and an extended family member, Linda (Tom) Coyle. Marita was preceded in death by her husband, Franz Nov. 17, 1990, a son Dennis Oct. 28, 1972, 4 sisters, Viola Gaul, Verena Kluesner, Barbara and Anita Wulfekuhle, 4 brothers, Albin, Edwin, Virgil and Elmer Wulfekuhle. Marita was born October 14, 1929 in Holy Cross, Iowa the daughter of Aloysius and Cecelia (Vonderhaar) Wulfekuhle. She married Francis "Franz" Cook on December 27, 1951 in Holy Cross Catholic Church. They farmed in the Holy Cross area. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. Marita was devoted to her family, enjoyed cooking, quilting, playing cards and going out to eat. She enjoyed sharing her musical talent with others by playing the accordion and piano. Special thanks to Tri State Dialysis of Guttenberg and Dubuque and Stonehill Care Center for their compassionate care and concern.
