Obituary of Herbert Tauke

Herbert H. Tauke, 86, of Dyersville, Iowa died Friday, February 11, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville, after a brief illness. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm on Sunday February 13, 2005, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday February 14, 2005, St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Tauke. Herb was born on June 20, 1918 in rural Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Louis and Anna (Klostermann) Tauke. He was a true man of farming in which he farmed the family farm his entire life. He was known as Uncle Herb to his nieces and nephews. Survivors include one sister, Eileen Hoeger of Dyersville, IA, and many nieces and nephews. One sister-in-law Anna Mae Tauke of Luxemburg and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Burkle of Dyersville and Herman Geistkemper of Earlville. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters; Marie Tauke, Luetta Burkle, Annetta Geistkemper, Inez and Irma Tauke both in infancy and three brothers, Arnold, Ambrose and Leonard Tauke.
