Obituary of Anastasia Stillmunkes

Mrs. Stillmunkes was born January 22, 1911 in Balltown, Iowa the daughter of Mathias and Regina (Meyer) Jaeger. She walked to Balltown for school until 1st Communion then attended Plum Creek School. Anastasia married Alphonse G. Stillmunkes October 4, 1933 in Balltown, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Asbury area from 1933 - 1936 and in the Holy Cross area from 1936 - 1964. Anastasia was a member of the Holy Cross Senior Citizens, Holy Cross Rosary Society and the Catholic Order of Forester Court 881 of Holy Cross. She loved being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, gardening, embroidering, playing bingo and playing cards. Her favorite activity was babysitting. Survivors include a daughter Shirley (Jack) Domeyer of Holy Cross and a son Roger (Sharon) Stillmunker of Holy Cross. 11 grandchildren, Carl and Karen Domeyer, Terry and Kim Domeyer, Dale and Jody Domeyer, James Domeyer, Jeff and Melissa Domeyer and Ted and Kristen Domeyer, Jerome and Dori Stillmunkes, Jean Ann and Mark Schmitt, Daniel and Angie Stillmunkes, Ann Marie and Jeff West and Alan Stillmunkes. 25 great grandchildren. A sister-in-law, Clara Jaeger of Holy Cross. Preceding her in death were her husband Alphonse, April 11, 1983. 4 brothers: Frank, Alfred, Ralph and Arthur Jaeger and a sister Lorene (Aloysius) Brecht.
