Survivors include her husband, Mike; 2 sisters: Norma (Bernard) Hesse of Waterloo, Marilyn Hein of St. Louis, MO and several nieces and nephews. Vernita was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: William Newton Hood, Vernon James Hood; and one sister Neola Ray. Vernita was born on August 16, 1931 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Thurman and Marie (Duwa) Hood. She married Milo "Mike" Albert on October 13, 1962 at Hammond Ave. Church of the Brethern in Waterloo, Iowa. Vernita worked for Rath Packing Co. for 37 years. She loved fishing, boating and camping. She and her husband Mike have been coming to Buenie on weekends and holidays since 1967.
