Obituary of Alfred Tobin

Alfred was born on June 3, 1930 in Worthington, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Alma (Klein) Tobin. He married Anna Mae Lueken on October 26, 1953 in Luxemburg, Iowa. He was employed by Dubuque County Highway Department for 38 years. God was very important in his life. Alfred served in the Army during the Korean War (1949 - 1952), his hobby was woodworking but loved his cars and trucks. Over his lifetime he owned 13 trucks and 22 cars. He also loved traveling and fishing with his beautiful wife, attending softball games and watching his grandchildren play. Alfred's memberships included, St. Paul Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Order of Foresters. Formerly he was a member of the Worthington City Council and Worthington Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae, 5 daughters ;Jayne (Tom) Reiter, Judy (Gary) Smock both of Worthington, Janet( and special friend Paul Strouse) Tobin of Dyersville, Joan (Marvin) Meier and Jill (Bob) Jones both of Cedar Rapids. 1 son: Jeff (Joyce) Tobin of Worthington. Grandchildren: Jeremy and Jolene Reiter, Sean Kelley, Cari and Christopher Smock, Olivia, Madison and Kendal Meier, Kristi, Heidi and Matt Tobin, Theresa and Steve Gaul and Orion Jones. 5 sisters: Gladys Jaeger, Del Rose Ostwinkle, and Darlene (Carey) Ahlers all of Worthington, Shirley (Gilbert) Rave of Farley and Margie Althoff of Manchester. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Brian Reiter. Brothers-in-law: Ernest Ostwinkle, Clarence Althoff and Robert Jaeger. Niece and Nephews: Gary Rave, Mark Rave, Juanita Ostwinkle and Ronnie Ostwinkle Military Rites will be accorded at the Graveside
