Ed was born on May 13, 1920 in Luxemburg, Iowa, the son of George Sr. and Elizabeth (Clemen) Friedmann. He married Anne K. Franzen on February 15, 1944 in St. Lucas, Iowa. Ed and Anne farmed in the Waterloo, St. Lucas and Luxemburg areas until retirement in 1979. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, an usher and Eucharistic Minister at the Basilica and a volunteer at Oak Crest Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include his 4 sons: Ed Jr. (Libby) of Redfield, IA, Ken (Linda) of Tucson, AZ, Stan (Carol) of Luxemburg, IA and Jeff (Nanci) of Culver City, CA; 4 daughters: Carol Rosauer of Palm Springs, CA, Pat (Jim) McCormick of Granger, IA, Mari (Dave) Vorwald of Dyersville and Annette Ray of Coralville, IA; 15 grandchildren: Robin Kauder, Eric (Darlene) Rosauer, Amy, Sarah and Andrew (fiance Ellen Frederiksen) Friedman, Keith (Jolene), Karl, Terry Friedmann, Katie and Molly McCormick, Jason (fiancé Jessica Sargent) and Tyler Vorwald, Jill (Russ) Overton, Roxanne and Adam Friedmann; 8 great-grandchildren: Rebecca and Alexandra Friedman, Dakota Vorwald, Tristen and Hunter Overton, Colby and Isabella Friedmann and Jordan Rosauer; 1 step-great grandson, Anthony Klein; 5 sisters-in-law: Jean Friedmann; Elsie Franzen, Irene Franzen, Margaret Franzen, and Ruth Lensing He was preceded in death by his wife Anne in 2003, 1 granddaughter, Monica McCormick, 6 brothers: Peter, Clement, Anthony, Rev. Clarence, Alfred and George Jr. and 4 sisters: Sister Rosalita Friedmann, Irene Demuth, Ann Gerken and Leonette Demuth. A parish scripture service will be held at 4:30 p.m., the Dyersville Fire Department will meet at 6:00 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
