Survivors include her 3 daughters, Carol (Dick) Woolf and Mary Ann "Annie" (Ron "Tuni") Barton, both of Dubuque, Donna (Tim) Erceg of Clive,IA 5 sons: Gary (Shari) of Dubuque, Duane "D.J." of Holy Cross, Randy (Susi) of Swisher, Dale (Ellie) of Dyersville and Allen (Lynn) of Waunakee, WI; 16 grandchildren: Michelle and Christopher (Misty) Woolf, Matthew, Stephanie (fiance'John Murphy) and Andrew Jaeger, Ryan and Renee Barton, Brooke and Lindsey Erceg, Nicholas, Melissa and Kimberly Jaeger, Shelby and Thomas Jaeger and Brandon and Molly Jaeger; a great grandchild, Madelyn Jaeger-Toyne; 2 step-grandchildren: Vicky (Roger) Fielding and Doug (MaryJo) Woolf; 6 step-great grandchildren: Ryan and Vanessa Fielding, Elissa (Michael) Zicardia, Lacy and Sawyer Woolf and Steven Woolf Jr.; 2 sisters: Catherine Palm of Dubuque and Marie Maiers of Dyersville; and a brother, Walter (Ginny) Engling of Lititz, PA; 2 sisters-in-law: Dorothy (George) Mihm of Sherrill and Alverda "Verdi" Engling of Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Art in 1992, 2 brothers: Francis and Hubert Engling. A special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, Dr. Mark Liaboe and his staff and Dr. Christian Schulteis and his staff for the care they gave to Clara during her illness. Finally, the support provided by the Holy Cross community, Brother Stephen Markham and Father Tom Zinkula, will always be remembered. Clara was born on September 16, 1924 in North Buena Vista, Iowa, the daughter of Henry P. and Catherine (Steines) Engling. She married Arthur G. Jaeger on November 24, 1943 in North Buena Vista, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Holy Cross area for 40 years. Clara enjoyed crocheting and quilting, gardening, baking, feeding her backyard birds, playing cards, fishing and was an avid sports fan. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and spending time with all of her many friends. Clara's deep faith and relationship with the church was an integral part of her life.
