Survivors are her husband, Andrew, of Shady Rest Care Center, 2 daughters: Judy (Dan) Dolan of Waterloo, IA and Mary Jo (Joe) Zaksas of Sarasota, FL; 1 son, Dave Hostert of Worthington, IA, 4 grandchildren: Lora (Shane) Sonberg, Steve Dolan, Kristy Dolan and Joe Dolan; a great granddaughter, Sierra Sonberg, a brother, Don (Mickey) Burlage of Worthington and a sister-in-law Dorothy Burlage of Dyersville. Irene was preceded in death by three brothers: Elmer, Lester and Lawrence (Frances) Burlage; 4 sisters: Ida (Laverne) Engler, Lucille (Emil) White, Florence and Mildred Burlage and a sister-in-law, Victoria Hostert. Condolences accepted and information at www.kramerfuneral.com. Mrs. Hostert was born January 1, 1918, the daughter of Theodore and Sophia (May) Burlage. She married Andrew Hostert August 21, 1945. Together they farmed East of Worthington, Iowa. Irene was a Charter Member of the Dubuque Co. Cattlewomen's Assoc. and a member of the St. Paul Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing cards and was known for her good sense of humor.
