Survivors include 2 daughters: Judy (Dan) Dolan of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mary Jo (Joe) Zaksas of Sarasota, FL; 1 son, Dave Hostert of Worthington, Iowa, 4 grandchildren: Lora (Shane) Sonberg, Steve Dolan, Kristy Dolan and Joe Dolan, a great-granddaughter; Sierra Sonberg, brother-in-law, Don (Mickey) Burlage and sister-in-law, Dorothy Burlage. He is preceded in death by his wife Irene, his sister Victoria Hostert, three brothers-in-law: Elmer, Lester and Lawrence (Frances) Burlage and and 4 sisters-in-law: Ida (Laverne) Engler, Lucille (Emil) White, Florence and Mildred Burlage. Mr. Hostert was born October 7, 1917, in Dubuque, the son of Felix and Josephine (Schemmel) Hostert. He married Irene Burlage on August 21, 1945, in Dyersville, Iowa. They farmed East of Worthington, Iowa. He had strong sense of and deep appreciation for his family. Andy was a Hall of Fame member of the Dubuque Co. Cattlemen's Association who loved farming, raising cattle and going to sales. Friends may call from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday November 21, 2005, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. The parish scripture service will be held at 4:00 p.m. and an Altar & Rosary Society Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m.
