Clete was born Nov. 24, 1923, in Bankston,, Iowa the son of Peter and Catherine (Meyer) Gotto. He married Rosella M Hoefer on May 25, 1949 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Bankston and Holy Cross areas. He loved his family and enjoyed being outdoors. Clete was a member of the Farley Knights of Columbus. Survivors include one son, James Gotto of Holy Cross; three daughters, Elizabeth Gotto of Holy Cross, Shirley (Tom) Simon of Farley, IA and Linda (Martin) Bahl of Asbury, IA; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Matt, Mark and Joshua Simon, Katie, Julie, Sarah, Rebecca and Michael Bahl; 1 sister, Mary Jane Anthony of Holy Cross, IA and 1 brother Ralph (Nancy) Gotto of Burnsville, MN. , 2 sisters-in-law, Catherine (Clarence) Pins of Farley,and Grace Gotto of Bankston, IA Clete was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella, on March 14, 2003, a brother, Leon and his parents Peter & Catherine Gotto
