Rose Mary Nehl, of Monticello, Iowa died Thursday, December 8, 2011, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Birch will be the officiate. Surviving are 4 children: Joyce (Mike) Kremer of Cascade, Tom (Stacy) Nehl of Marion, Donna (Bill) Canovan of Janesville, Wis. and Linda (Steve) Werner of Dyersville; 7 grandchildren: Chad (Kerry) Kremer, Dan (Stacy) Kremer, Carissa (Brian) Gehl, Rachel Nehl, Charlie Nehl, Becky and Mandy Canovan; 5 great grandsons, 2 brothers, Clarence (Adella) Lahr and Alvin Lahr and 2 Sisters, Mary Jane Felton and Theresa Goedken. Rose is also survived by 2 Brothers-in law, Joe (Connie) Nehl and Gilbert (Wanita) Nehl and 1 sister-in-law, Gerry Williams. Rose was born May 10, 1918 in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Krogman Lahr. She married Wallace Nehl on Sept. 26, 1946, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sand Springs, Iowa. Together they farmed near Monticello until retiring in 1983. She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband, Wallace, a daughter-in-law, Michele Nehl, 4 brothers, John, Joe, Alfred and Nicholas Lahr and 3 sisters, Veronica Russ, Margaret Oehler, Loretta Lahr, 11 Brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law.
