Obituary of Magdalen Jesenovec

Survivors include her husband, Edmund; 4 sons: Gerald (Jane) of Farley, Robert of Worthington, Ernest (Wilma) and David (Jane), both of Hopkinton; a son-in-law, Edwin Althoff of Anamosa; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Cecelia Wulfekuhle of Dyersville and Leona Freiburger of Delhi; a sister-in-law, Rita Bonert of Hopkinton. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Althoff; 7 sisters: Frances Johannes-Weyer, Margaret Quint, Martha Connolly, Malvina Offermann, Florence Summers, Kathryn Nefzger, and Magdalen Bonert (in infancy); 4 brothers: Anton, Lawrence, John and Leo Bonert. Mrs. Jesenovec was born July 29, 1913 in Hopkinton, Iowa the daughter of Conrad and Barbara (Ludwig) Bonert. She attended St. Paul School in Worthington. Magdalen and Edmund Jesenovec were united in marriage on February 17, 1941 in Worthington, Iowa. Together they farmed near Worthington. She was a member of St. Paul's parish and its Altar & Rosary Society. Magdalen loved her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers. Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where the Rosary Society rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. and the parish scripture service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006, St. Paul Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa with burial in St. Paul Cemetery. Rev. Douglas Loecke will officiate.
