Obituary of Gilbert Singsank

Survivors include his wife, Mercedes, a daughter, Judy (Lloyd) Kennedy of Placid, 7 sons: Ronald (Sharon), Jim (Jan), Tim (Joyce) and Mark (Shirley), all of Dyersville, David (Cindy) and Dennis (Diane) both of Ann Arbor, MI and Tom (Barb) of Minnetonka, MN; 3 sisters: Eileen Dingbaum of Dyersville, Mae (Alphonse) Pasker of Manchester and Delores Hirtz of Cascade; 2 brothers: Irvin (Virgie) Singsank and Gerald (Helen) Singsank both of Luxemburg, 16 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marcella Steffen and a brother, Dr. Clarence Singsank. Memorials will be given to Beckman High School Endowment Fund and St. Francis Xavier Parish. Condolences accepted and information at www.kramerfuneral.com. Gib was born on March 7, 1921 on the family farm in Luxemburg, Iowa. He was the son of Clem B. and Grace (Theilen) Singsank. Gib married Mercedes Olberding on May 29, 1945 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa. He was a lifelong farmer until his retirement. Gib was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, a strong supporter of Catholic education, a volunteer at Oak Crest Manor and director of various local and county boards. He loved spending time with family and friends and loved playing cards and discussing national events. Gib was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and brother. He is loved and will be greatly missed by all.
