Obituary of Mary Catherine Kirsch

Survivors include her 3 sons: Bob and Ray (Jenny) both of Dyersville and Mike (Doris) of Dubuque, 4 daughters: Pat (Dick) Haigh, Karen (Dave) Koppes and Sharon (Mike) Downing all of Dubuque, and Jan (Jim) Singsank of Dyersville, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one brother, Maurice Losey of Clinton, IA, one sister, Sr. Joan Losey, OSF of Omaha, NE, 2 brothers-in-law: John Spoden and Wayne Keel and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Kirsch, 2 sisters: Jane Spoden and Geraldine Keel and one brother, Jack Losey. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Hermann and staff, Finley Hospital, Hospice of Dubuque and special thanks to Ellen LaPage, Kit Kurt and Darline Schumann for the excellent care they provided. Mary was born on March 27, 1923 in Neola, Iowa the daughter of Lester and Mary (Barnoske) Losey. She married Norbert Kirsch on February 6, 1943 in Worthington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1983. Mary graduated from St. Paul High School. Together she and her husband farmed in the Worthington area. She also retired from the Ertl Company after 20 years of service. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs and playing cards.
