Surviving include 1 son, Dan (Bev) Clemen of Dyersville, Iowa, 2 daughters, Kathy (Frank) LeGrand of Suffolk, VA and Lori (Tim) Benn of Delhi, Iowa, the mother of his children, Mary Clemen of Hendersonville, Tennessee, 10 grandchildren: Chris, Nathan, Daniel and Amanda LeGrand, Tyler, Allison and Ryan Clemen, Cody Burger and Cole Benn, 1 great granddaughter, Elizabeth LeGrand, 3 sisters, Kathleen (Albert) Trenkamp of Dyersville, IA, Virginia (Bill) Juran of Holy Cross, IA and Madonna (John) Weimerskirch of Dubuque, IA; 4 brothers, Eddie (Rosie) Clemen of New Vienna, IA, Leon (LaVonne) Clemen and Roger (Janey) Clemen both of Holy Cross, IA, and Cletus (Grace) Clemen of East Dubuque, IL. Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Brittany Clemen and a brother-in-law, Lee Wedewer. Ambrose was born January 8, 1944 in Holy Cross, Iowa, the son of Leonard J. and Frances M. (Hayes) Clemen. He attended school in Holy Cross, graduating in 1963. Ambrose married Mary Cook on April 24, 1965 in North Buena Vista, Iowa, later divorcing in 2000. He joined the U.S. Army in 1963 for 6 months, then being placed in the reserves until 1970. Ambrose worked at John Deere and farmed in Epworth until his move to Tennessee in March of 1989, where he did carpentry, landscaping and worked in maintenance for the Cracker Barrel Co. until his retirement in 2004. He was a 50 year member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
