Survivors include her son, Dave of Earlville, 7 daughters: Jean (Richard) Hunt of Hopkinton, Lynne (Dan) Strum of Delhi, Karen (Dick) Lahr and Theresa (Brian) McDowell both of Worthington, Judy (Dave Halfhill) Staner of Earlville, Vicky (Todd) Salow of Washington, IA and Nancy (Jason) Ross of Shawnee, KS, 19 grandchildren: Mindy (Jamie) Mensen, Matt Staner, Chad (Erin) Hunt, Jodi and Ashleigh Hunt, Lance Corporal Ryne Strum of the U.S. Marines, Seaman Jamie Strum of the U.S. Navy, Calvin, Samantha and Danyele Strum, Adam and Alyssa Lahr, Kyle, Kodey, Brianna and Amber Salow, Amanda and Brittany McDowell and Jordan Ross, 2 great grandchildren: Owen and Ella Mensen, 2 sisters: Ann (Mark) Winter of Earlville and LaVonne (Robert) Biermann of Farley, a sister-in-law, Rita Jaeger of Dubuque and a brother-in-law, Walter Steger of Delhi. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Sharon in 1964 and Kimberly in 1978, a grandson, Dylan McDowwell, 2 sisters: Mary Lou (Francis) Schilling and Betty Steger, 2 brothers Louis and Donald (Nadine Kay) Jaeger. Special thanks to Shady Rest Care Center, and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Dorothy, Sheila and Lynn for their compassionate and excellent care. Janice was born on November 11, 1938 in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Mildred (Gudenkauf) Jaeger. Janice was a nurse's assistant for 26 years at Heritage Manor in Dubuque. She loved bingo and watching her grandchildren's activities. Janice was an Iowa Hawkeye's and Chicago Cubs fan.
