Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Moore of Monticello, 3 sons: Carl (Mary) of LaMotte, Jim (Betty) of Dyersville, and Pat (Kay) of New Vienna, 24 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Boeckenstedt of New Vienna, one sister, Jean Mensen of Dyersville, 2 brothers: Fred (LeeAnn) Wessels of Manchester and Dan (Elaine) of Petersburg, 6 sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph in 1989, one son, Robert, a daughter, Ruth Boeckenstedt, a son-in-law, Dick Moore, 2 brothers, Charles and LaVerne Wessels, a sister, Lois Pins, 10 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law. The family would like to thank the Ellen Kennedy Center and Oak Crest Manor Staff for their excellent and compassionate care. Celestine was born on November 5, 1912 in Colesburg, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Clara A. (Krapfl) Wessels. She married Joseph A. Boeckenstedt on November 28, 1934 in Petersburg, Iowa. Together they farmed primarily near New Vienna until retiring in 1974 when they moved to New Vienna. Celestine was a great cook who enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and playing cards and bingo. Celestine was a member of the St. Boniface Altar Society and VFW Auxiliary.
