Surviving are 1 daughter, Nancy (Ron) Barone of Rapid City, South Dakota; 4 sons: Bob J. (Sue) of Bixby, Oklahoma, Larry Meyers of Solon, Iowa, Neil (Cathy) of Dyersville, Iowa and Bill (Carol) of Waverly, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Kathleen Klaus of Earlville, Iowa and Donna Jean Cook of Oxford, Miss. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on October 5, 1995, a daughter-in-law, Lonnie Meyers, four brothers and four sisters. Lucille was born August 5, 1913 in Dubuque, Iowa the eldest of 11 children born to August E. "Gus" and Christina (Till) Schuster. She grew up in Dyersville and attended parish schools graduating from Xavier High School with the Class of 1931. She married Robert P. Meyers on June 28, 1941 in Dyersville. Bob and Lucille were active members of the Dyersville Golf and Country Club for many years. Lucille was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Rose and attended Mother's Study Club while her family was young. She played Bridge for many years with a local group. One of her favorite activities in the past was sewing for the Pope's Storeroom, making dozens of blankets and children's clothing items for this charity over the years. Like her father, she loved to garden and can the fruits of her labor. She loved flowers and always exclaimed about the Texas Blue Bonnets when she and Bob visited there. Another activity she looked forward to was a leaf tour in October. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Douglas Loecke will officiate. A Lucille A. Meyers memorial fund has been established and memorials are preferred.
