He is survived by his wife, sons Dennis (Deanna) Boge of Wondai, Queensland, Australia and Dave of Dyersville, a daughter Deanne Coohey of Dyersville; grandchildren Gavin (Leanne) Boge, Amelia Boge and Marinda Boge, all of Brisbane, Queensland, Damara Boge of Wondai, Queensland, Renee (Bryon) Casey of Anamosa, Iowa, Lynn (Matt) Schmitz of Dyersville, Micki (Ben) Jones of Dyersville, Kevin Boge of Cedar Rapids, IA Shane (Holly) Coohey of North Liberty, Iowa, Jason (Jenny) Coohey of Dyersville, Shannon Coohey and her fiancé Ryan Lehman of North Liberty, Ryan Coohey of Dyersville and Jonathan Coohey of Marion, Iowa; great grandchildren Daniel Boge and Alisha Boge of Brisbane, Queensland, Aaron Casey and Alex Casey of Anamosa, Samantha Schmitz and Madeline Schmitz of Dyersville, Olivia Jones of Dyersville, Emma Coohey and Breanna Coohey of Dyersville, and Iben Coohey of North Liberty; a sister Eileen Pins of Dyersville; sisters-in-law Calista Boge of Manchester, Iowa, Celine (Hank) Stohlmeyer of Tennyson, WI, Catherine (Loras) Collins of Dubuque, IA, Lucille Clark of Bristol, IL, and Millie Ryan of Dubuque; a brother-in-lawVes Boniface of Dubuque; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Rosella Gravel, Lucille Kramer, Leander Boge, Dolores Gravel, Berniece Riesberg, Mary Ann Milbert, and Elmer Boge; and in-laws Phillip Gravel, Ray Kramer, Joe Gravel, Clarence Riesberg, Art Loeffelholz, and Frank Milbert, Celestine and Leo Laughlin, Marie and Orville Manderscheid, Francis and Veronica Ryan, Lonny Clark, Marcella Bonifas, and Leonard Ryan. LuVerne was born February 22, 1925, on the original Boge family homestead northeast of Dyersville, the son of Louis and Gertrude (Prier) Boge. He married Monica Ellen Ryan on September 1, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Together they farmed south of the Boge homestead from 1949 until retiring in the early 1990's. He also worked at Hub's Repair Shop in New Vienna, Iowa from around 1954 to 1966. In 1966 he started Boge Construction which sold, erected, and serviced Eaton Grain Bins. From 1964 to the early 1990's he did custom harvesting for area farmers. In 1968 he was employed by Moorman Manufacturing Company and was a feed salesman to local farmers. LuVerne was a lifelong resident of Dyersville and resided on his farm until 2006 when he moved to town, moving to the Ellen Kennedy Center. He enjoyed playing music, singing, and whistling while he worked. He loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a good carpenter, mechanic, and jack-of-all-trades. LuVerne enjoyed helping others and enjoyed good conversation with other people. A highlight of his life, were the trips he and his wife took to visit their son and his family in Australia.
