Obituary of Darlene Helen Necker

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob", brothers-in-law, Edwin Conrad, of Dyersville, Neil (Karen) Necker of Dyersville, John (Pat) Necker of Austin, TX, David (Doris) Necker of Georgetown, TX, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Necker of DeWitt, IA; a neice, Joyce Brimeyer of Dubuque, and a nephew, Wayne (Arlene) Conrad of North Buena Vista, IA She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Jeanette McLaughlin and Margaret Conrad, a brother-in-law, Donald Necker and a sister-in-law, Bette Thomas. Dolly was born September 19, 1934 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Matthew and Alvina (Steger) Meisenburg. She married Robert Necker at St. Francis Xavier Basilica on August 9, 1958. Dolly began housekeeping for Interstate Power Company in Dubuque. In 1968, Dolly and Bob purchased the Office Tap from Don Corchane and began a 34 year career as the owners and operators until 2002 when they retired. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where the Parish scripture service will be held at 3:30 p.m. and the American Legion Auxiliary will recite a Rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Donald Hertges will officiate. A Darlene H. Necker Memorial Fund has been established.
